A 1,000 BBL steel gun barrel tank is a key piece of oilfield production equipment used to separate produced oil from water before the oil is transferred to sales or storage tanks. Produced fluid enters the vessel and is distributed internally, allowing gravity and residence time to separate the lighter oil from the heavier produced water. These 2018-year tanks are internally coated and feature the newer-style internal gun barrel design, eliminating the tall external flume/standpipe associated with older gun barrel configurations. The internal arrangement provides the fluid distribution and level-control functions necessary for continuous oil-water separation while maintaining a cleaner, more compact installation.
